Service Codes Tv

Only for TV mechanics.

Warning

Please note down the default values before changing them, so that you can restore them if something goes wrong or you don't like the output.

 Use of  Service Menu
All digital TVs contain a secret service code which allows you to change some internal settings like picture height, width, position, colors, etc. Basically this service menu is used by TV mechanics.

For Sony TV: First power off your TV using remote, then Press <Display> + 5 + Vol Up + Power button simultaneously on remote.
Now you can make desired changes to the settings. To save the changes, just press Mute + 0.

For LG TV: Press and Hold <OK> button on remote as well as TV panel at the same time for a few minutes. Now you can make desired changes to the settings. To save the changes press <OK> in Remote.
PS: Be very careful while playing with the service menu. First make changes but don't apply them. If something goes wrong, just switch off the TV and switch on it again.

For PANASONIC TV:

Panasonic TV's after 1996 can be set to "Serviceman Mode" with the
     following remote control sequence:

First, select the SET-UP icon and select CABLE mode.

Then, select the TIMER icon and set the SLEEP timer for 30 minutes.

Next, press the ACTION button twice to get out of the menus.

     Now, change to channel 124.

Then, adjust the volume to minimum (0).

You're almost there - Hit the VOL down button on the TV itself (not on
the remote) and a red "CHK" should appear in the upper corner.

Now, if you press the ACTION and VOLUME DOWN buttons (again, on the
TV, not the remote) you will toggle between AGING and SERVICEMAN modes.

Select Serviceman mode. The POWER button on the remote control will
select one of the five Serviceman Adjustment modes.
     * Hold down the {VOL -} button ON THE PLASMA TV.

    * Press the {RECALL} button 3 times on the remote.

    * The Service Menu will be displayed.

    * Use {1} {2} on remote to navigate main menu items.

    * Use {3} {4} on remote to navigate sub-menu items.

    * Use {VOL+} {VOL -} on remote to change item value.

    * Write down all values before changing

Once a value is changed, THE CHANGE IS MADE.

    * Power off to exit service mode and save.

For ZENITH TV:
I think this might work on Goldstar TVs as well, since both Zenith and
Goldstar are the same company, LG Electronics.

Hold the MENU button. The menu will come up and then after a few
seconds will go away. Now let go of the MENU button and enter

                9 8 7 6 Enter

You will get a service menu that varies widely depending on model, so
I won't include a walkthrough here. The ones I tried were fairly
     self-explanatory.
